Oh Leo's, I don't even know how I didn't gain 50 lbs in high school considering how often I frequented this place back in the day. This was a favorite after school diner that serves the best pancakes, BLT sandwiches, and soups. Did I mention the extra thick bacon slices?! Whenever I visit the parentals I have to make a pit stop at Leo's. Those BLT sandwiches are delicious. If you're in a breakfast mood, their thick cut French toast hits the spot. With a side of bacon, of course :) Fast service and I swear the same wait staff is still tree from when I was in HS hanging out in a corner booth with my friends. Nice friendly atmosphere where you feel like you're part of the family. Thanks for the memories Leo's!

this place kinda sucks. from what i remember leo's used to be really good no matter what location you went to. i went here for lunch and ordered chili cheese fries with nuggets. the chili cheese fries barely had anything on them, and the portions are horrible. the nuggets were pretty good, better than your standard chicken nuggets. the waiters and waitresses were super awkward, and most of them were just standing around talking using excessive profanity. i don't think this is appropriate! i don't care how "slow" you think business is. plus i'm pretty sure our waiter spoke a total of 5 words to us the entire time we were there. awwwwwwkward!

Day/Time of visit: weekday lunch Atmosphere: casual, family owned diner Leos is a family owned Coney/Diner where you can get Coney dogs, gyros, Greek salads, breakfast, and daily specials like meatloaf, spaghetti, and stuffed cabbage rolls. I usually go for lunch whenever I'm in the Dearborn area. They aren't breaking any culinary boundaries but its usually decent unassuming food in a comfortable diner setting. I like their Greek salads with chicken breast. They make the dressing and grill the pita. My BF always orders a Coney dog and a Coney special (Coney with loose hamburger), Their gyros are good too. The waitresses are no-frills and sometimes call you 'honey' and usually do a great job. I will mention that we have gone around 2 pm for a late lunch a few times and been very disappointed. Apparently this is when the chef takes his lunch break and the backup cook steps in - I would recommend avoiding visiting during this time.

I initially held a grudge against Leo's when they first moved in many moons ago because they replaced my beloved Blazo's which had the best pie pretty much ever. But eventually I forgave and forgot once I sat down and had a meal here. Leo's isn't fancy but what Coney Island is? Breakfast is pretty standard--eggs, hash browns, pancakes, etc. But the hash browns are perfect! Nice and greasy and crispy. Just the way I like em. But let's get real here--what you're really coming here for is a coney dog and some chili cheese fries, right? And on that tip Leo's deliver's big time. Delicious artery clogging food that was always a comfort destination when I would come home weekends from college. Leo's has such a following that they even opened their first non-metro Detroit area location in Chicago, much to the delight of the massive amount of Michigan expats in Illinois. But this location, around the corner from my mom's house, is still number one in my heart. Even if their pie isn't Blazo's caliber. My only complaint is the lack of 24 hour service. If only Leo's had been a 24 hour joint it would have saved me a lot of post bar trips to Ram's Horn in college!

The owner Danny does NOT know how to run a business. Yeah that's right. I said it. DANNY. The owner.. Is not friendly. I've come here so many times where I ignored it all the time.. I grab my food & go. And sometimes I even dine in- but he has nothing to do with that because all he does is cash ppl out. Anyways- here's my most recent experience at this place. Which was today, Sunday the 5th of July. I stopped in the store right near leos to grab some stuff, and I ordered my takeout while doing so. As soon as he answered "LEOS!" I asked him how he was because that's what you do! I asked him how he was doing today and he replied good how are you. I started to tell him my order. In the end I asked him if he could repeat it because I live 10mins away and I didn't wanna come home with the wrong food or whatever it may be. (Previous times I had asked for jelly.. He gave me A SIDE. Of jelly..) Wait you're that cheap I have to ask you for a handful of jelly? What am I going to do with 4 slices of bread.. And a SIDE of jelly. So anyways I was just making sure that wasn't going to happen again. He cut me off and said "I'm busy right now I can't do all that but I have it all written down for you" .. I said no, this has never been a problem before. Can you please reread my order? I even said please. He completely ignored me and said ok see you in 10mins and shut the phone. AT. THIS. POINT. I. AM. LIVID. How can you shut the phone on your customer??? And he's seen me here plenty of times before. PLENTY. To know that I come to his old shabby place often. So of course I called back & one of the waitresses answered the phone. I had told her I just called in my order, and was treated very poorly. I can hear Danny in the background saying "TELL HER I GOT IT!!!" Oh yeah? I'll tell you one thing. You just got my last 10$ that I'll ever spend here. Since I'm right next door as soon as I leave the store I go into Leo's.. It was a ghosttown. Not as busy as he claimed he was.. To where he couldn't repeat my order back to me & hung up. There's this elderly couple right before me so I wait for them to finish. The waitress had asked me if I needed anything and I said no I'll wait for the manager. He knows I know he's the owner. Now it's my turn and i told him how I just called & he was being very rude to me. How he wouldn't repeat my order and just hung up on me. He said "I realized I hung up on you" and before he could say ANYTHING else I said no. LET ME TALK. I told him how he just lost a customer that's been going there for years.. Years. And I said what he did was unacceptable. He continued to say what he was gonna say before and I interrupted once again. And told him an apology would be nice. So right now I'm expecting something sincere.. Ha. I know better. This jerk gave me the fakest "I'm sorry" I have ever heard. I then proceeded to tell him I tip everywhere I go- but today's not his lucky day cuz he's not getting A PENNY. He said he does fine without.. Yeah! I can tell! Sunday morning- restaurant filled with about 10 people.. Oh yes. I'm sure you'd do fine without me. I don't care if I spend 20$ here or 7$. This place IS NOT getting my money anymore. As I'm turning around to leave all he does is scream "bye! Bye! Bye!" Yep that's right! SAYONARA! Goodbye! You won't be seeing me anymore. On my way out I even stopped a gentleman from going in there- I said "don't go in there. Terrible service" the man turned right around! so long story short, the owner does not care about you. Or him. Or her. He just doesn't care. He wants you in & out. Takes your money and doesn't even wish you a good day. YELP!!! This is all your fault!!! This place does NOT deserve one star. It deserves absolutely nothing.

Place was packed Friday afternoon and still had great service. My waitress Melissa was quick and efficient, never felt rushed or constantly bombarded. Food came out hot and fast, and my coffee cup never met the half way mark. These ladies worked so well with one another, I never saw a table stay dirty for long, and they all seemed fine helping each other about. Supreme customer service. I will be visiting again! Thanks, Melissa!

Yum, Coney Island restaurants! Oh, how I miss thee. A native Michigander, I grew up enjoying these restaurants. Leo's is by far my favorite. And I'm not sure where to even begin when it comes to the menu (which, thrillingly, includes entreés that range from all-day breakfast (I'm a fan of the pancakes), Greek food (always enjoy the saganaki, warm pita bread, and salads), home-y comfort food (go for the chicken-finger pita), and - of course - coney dogs. Oh! And I can't forget to mention the rice pudding - YUM). If only Leo's would grace those of us living in the Mid-Atlantic . . . life would then be perfect!

Every time we get food from Leo's, it is up to par. I cannot remember ordering anything and being disappointed. Basic coney island menu, but its good every time.

I have been to many Coney Island;s and this is by far the best one I've ever ate at. They have a great variety of dishes to choose from. Whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner you're craving you won't be let down. Their food is tasty, light and fresh. They also have really good desserts, whether you're having a brownie sundae or baklava, you'll enjoy it.

Love it, love the Baklava. Very reasonable prices right in The Heights Plaza with Farmer Jack and Target. Yum!
